What is Levelling Up Futures in Sheffield?

Levelling Up Futures in Sheffield (LUFiS) is a project to raise student attainment, aspiration, and work readiness in 16 schools and colleges across Sheffield. It is a partnership between Sheffield Business Together, Sheffield Hallam University, the Chamber of Commerce and Sheffield Council.

The benefits of Employer outreach

We strongly believe that a young person’s background shouldn’t determine their future. And employers have a vital role to play. Research shows that four or more employer encounters mean young people are 86% less likely to become NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training).

The programme provides Employers the opportunity to give back, providing targeted support to young people hardest hit by the pandemic to ensure they have the same opportunities and life chances as their peers in wealthier parts of the city. Employer involvement also strengthens the links between education and work, it provides personal development opportunities for your people and create a talent pipeline for your business.
