Source Your Future Employer Event

Source Your Future Employer Event

Source Your Future Employment and Skills Event for All Sheffield Schools and Colleges – 21st to 23rd of June
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported the programme Sheffield Business Together has been working closely on over the past five months, Levelling Up Futures in Sheffield (LUFiS). We have now delivered 39 opportunities to over 1900 students, involving 136 Employer volunteers. We have a further 89 events in the pipeline so there is still plenty of opportunity for you and your people to get involved. We will be sharing those with you, in line with the preferences you expressed.

I am pleased to invite you to a Three-day employment and skills event, that LUFiS is hosting in partnership with The Source. The event is open to all schools and colleges across Sheffield. It is free for Employers and provides a great opportunity to promote your sector, business, apprenticeships and vacancies to hundreds of Sheffield students and young people looking for work. We already have some great Employers signed up like Meadowhall, NHS, The Civil Service and Gulliver’s but there is space for approximately 35 Employers each day.

Audience and content for each day

Below is a brief overview of each day.

21st June and 22nd of June, 9:30-15:00 – Targeted at 16 to 18 year old students (as well as local young people looking for work), and will focus on moving into work and employability skills.

Ways to get involved

As a LUFiS partner, we would love your business to have a presence at the event. Whilst attendance is free, we would like you to commit to staying for the duration of the event on your allocated day/s (9.30 to 15.00), as schools will be arriving at different times.

There are also opportunities for you and your people to support with soft skills, CV drop-in sessions and mock interviews to enhance young people’s employability skills. All volunteers will be fully briefed and supported.

We are mindful that our student population is diverse, and they come from a range of backgrounds and ethnicities. Whilst we welcome employer representatives and volunteers from all backgrounds, we also understand the enhanced value of young people being able to meet with role models who are relatable to their lived experiences.
